Beatrice Vanhelsing is the only child of Gabriel and Annabelle Vanhelsing. While she carries her family name with pride, deep down she struggles with the pressures that come with it. Most of this pressure comes from herself, she holds herself to incredibly high standards, expecting nothing less than perfection and constantly working to prove herself to be just as successful as the rest of her family.
Because of this stress that she gives herself, Beatrice is an incredibly serious and no-nonsense type of person. She's firm in her beliefs and incredibly stubborn once she makes up her mind. She always has a plan and if there is no plan...well then she's making one up. Despite being roomates with Cat, she remains pretty reserved and anti-social, seeing parties and gatherings as wastes of time that could be better spent training or studying.
Relationships:
Cat and Beatrice are roomates and childhood...friends? Friends seems like much true strong of a word. When prominent mythos-hunting families would gather for parties and events, Cat and Beatrice were often put together simply because they were the same age. Now they're roomates per the request of Cat's parents, who hope Bea can put some sense into her, though Bea finds her pretty annoying and reckless and doesn't want much to do with her or the loud parties she throws. Cat often drags her along anyways.
Beatrice finds herself oddly facisnated with Hadrian, which is bad. She's at MDA to study and become the best mythos hunter of all time...not to stare at pretty guys. Still, Beatrice appreciates how polite Hadrian, and she chalks up his odd behavior to him simply being from the city. She wants to get to know him better, but he's very reserved, making it difficult.
Conan is Beatrice's ex-boyfriend who she dated all througout high school and he has now followed her to college in hopes of winning her back. Beatrice finds this incredibly annoying. While she is polite towards him, she really just wishes he would go away. It's awkward with him here, and the whole point of breaking up with him was so she could focus on school and now here he is, teaming up with Cat to try and distract her from what's important. She simply does not have time for his nonsense.
