Leonardo is the leader and arguably main character of the the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Aka "the blue one" as I have had to tell many family members asking what to buy me for Christmas :-)
Leonardo is typically characterized as the average hero type. He tries his hardest to act honorably and fight for what's right, while also trying to protect his family. He's very disciplined and dedicated to ninjitsu. Some times he's a bit bossy, but he just has to keep his brothers in line so he can protect them!
There is an outliar to to this characterization which is ROTTMNT/2017 Leo, in which he is reckless and flamboyant, but honestly I think it still works for his character because at the end of the day, all versions of Leo just want to be loved and how they go about that can be different.
My personal favorite Leo would have to be 2003...he's just the best and the one that I latched onto the most. I love all Leo's though!!!!! Even Next Mutation...that one just a little less.
Leonardo has affected me more than any other fictional person has in my entire life.
When I first started watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (mostly as a joke because of something to do with one of my teachers...I don't really remember) I had a lot of self-hatred and never felt like I could do anything right, and while watching the show I felt like these struggles were reflected in Leonardo. I too wanted to be good enough for my family, put too much pressure on myself and completely crashed out whenever I failed. As I watched the show(s), it gave me hope to see that someone could hit the same lows that I had and still succeed in the end. He was able to conquer his feelings of inferiority, and so could I.
